What fun! Is that a newspaper you keep around the house? Is there significance to the date on the paper? I thought the ad for electricity was so interesting. I never knew that they would come and install the lights (lamps included) and the occupier of the house would only have to pay a small monthly rental, depending on how many lights were installed. My how times have changed! I had to chuckle about the divorce too. Poor man. It's funny what items made the news though, when there were only local things to report about because there was no television yet. So interesting. Glad you're feeling better, and thanks for sharing with us!

DebbieDebbie @ MeandMyDIYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16454606067378290761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8315539149655307592.post-50646005032510018712013-02-13T02:31:57.005+00:002013-02-13T02:31:57.005+00:00So happy to hear you are feeling better. And a lot of things like this It's funny to have a look to the past.

MarinaMarina in Bluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15995029373158067216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8315539149655307592.post-46986365465419358122013-02-11T06:49:54.886+00:002013-02-11T06:49:54.886+00:00Hi Daphne!!

When I bought my house, there was a wooden trunk in the basement, lined with newspaper pages from the 1950's. I quite enjoyed seeing the old ads and headlines.

Have a lovely week; I'm glad you're feeling better.

-KarenMy Little Home and Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01519563352358635257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8315539149655307592.post-68021720178876831152013-02-10T16:14:52.092+00:002013-02-10T16:14:52.092+00:00Oh Daphne, I hope you are well on the mend!
